He can't stand the way she looks at things All pure and utopian-like The way a young child would When they first learn to ride a bike.
He tries to understand her ways And her reasons for being so true But deep inside he questions it all For it's not what he's ever used to.
He doubts all the truth she tells him Right down to the way that she loves He doesn't notice that if he accepts who she is He'd see they fit like hand in glove.
Of course, she doesn't help him much With her inability to explain Every question he needs an answer for Though, she struggles to in vain.
They come from two different worlds One darkness and one of light They both must change a little bit To ever make things right.
But he is not the type to cave On what he's always known And so in the dark she continues to wait For him to turn into the man she can proudly call her own...
