Silent tears stream down her cheek As she stares out into the night Upon her shoulder, a friends hand A sign it'll be alright.
She remains expressionless As the evening traffic humms But it seems the more she blinks the more the tears do come.
Her eyes they remain open But her mind seems to shut down Her only way to escape The pressure of no sound.
She knows there in the darkness Through the lessons that they teach Is a true friends helping hand But she chooses not to reach.
Her eyes give 'way her secret That she's hurting deep inside She prays there are no street lamps To light the darkness inwhich she hides.
Finally she lets go Choosing not to think of 'Why?' Instead she forces all her will On the power of Goodbye...
