Lately I find that truth
rarely sets us free
That the more we ask the less we know
The more we look, the less we see.
I look through the fading light
At the darkness all around
And watch as all my dreams come
Slowly crashing down.
How much burden can one soul take
How many times can one heart die
How long can one struggle on
and how many tears can one girl cry?
Tis seems a never ending battle
To live a free and happy life
Oh the trouble I once must have caused
To be forced to live in strife.
This mountain that I'm climbing
Never seems to end
For every hurdle I cross over
There's another around the bend.
I struggle, I fall and I get back up
I will not lose this race.
For time may not be on my side
But I won't be second place.
Tis true that God will never give us
More then we can bare
But don't forget on the other hand
The Devil just don't care.
So throw your challanges my way
And see what I'm made of
For I've many angels looking down on me
Carried on the wings of love.
All I ask in return
Is that you not expect too much
I'm just a girl, a human being
And I've always been as such.
I'm scared, I'm worried, I'm caving in
I'm losing all my strength
My will to battle on wavers
And my loves at arm's length.
You stripped me of my health, my dream.
My strength, my trust my love.
Please don't take my hope away
Else I may never rise above.
I'm just a girl, no more no less
Who wants the world to see
She's fighting for her very life
The way she once dreamed it to be.
Lately I find that truth
rarely sets us free
That the more we ask the less we know
The more we look, the less we see.
